Oh. My. Gosh!

They just keep getting better.

If you’ve never read any books by Robert Bryndza….why not?!

Start now! Start with the ‘Girl in the Ice’…go on, do it, do it now!!

After reading The Girl in the Ice, The Night Stalker and Dark Water and being completely wowed by them, I couldn’t wait to get started with this one.

It didn’t disappoint. What a great plot.

Robert Bryndza has the ability to hook me in straight away.

The current obsession with social media played a big part in this plot. Watch who you accept as friends on Facebook! It really does make me think about privacy settings, location settings and being tagged in places.

I felt quite sorry for the girls who were excited to go on a date with this good-looking guy. Only for it to be someone quite different.

During the investigation I was intrigued by the killer avoiding the CCTV cameras, something I never give a thought to. I suppose when you have nothing to hide you don’t even think about that kind of thing.

Some of the characters really creeped me out, especially the farmer’s son and the farmer’s milking helper.

The farmer and his wife were not the nicest either….thinking more of the farmhand than their son at times. They had their own sadness from the past to deal with I guess.

I really felt for Bryony. She just wanted a boyfriend.

The descriptions of that old oast house were so vivid….what a nightmare!

On to Erika Foster, I love how she constantly goes on her instinct, her gut feeling. Even when the top brass try to rein her in. She is a great, ballsy and smart character. It doesn’t always go down well with her superiors but it makes her team of Peterson and Moss fiercely loyal. I saw a bit more of her softer side this time, and that was nice.

The pace of the plot kept me turning the pages. Kept the adrenaline going for sure!

Erika Foster is a definite favourite of mine.
