The Little Village of Happiness by Holly Martin, blog tour 6th July 2019

Thanks to Holly Martin for the early review copy and for inviting me on to the blog tour. I’m delighted to take part.

My Thoughts

Yet again I’m saying this is my favourite Holly Martin book.

I truly loved this story. I completely fell in love with the characters and the location, all so fabulously described that I felt like I was there and living in a little flowery cottage in Happiness!

When Willow upped sticks and moved to Happiness it wasn’t what she expected. The marketing material she’d seen painted a totally different picture in her mind than the reality of the shabby village. Had she made a big mistake?

Cue Andrew, the estate manager. The sparks were there between them, but things were a little complicated.

The feel-good vibes given off from Willow rub off on the residents of the village, and it becomes a real community again after years of neglect.

I love that Holly Martin’s books have that sexy edge over other chick lit authors, makes them steamily different.

Happy, sad, worried, funny, touching, steamy….all the emotions!! It ticks all the boxes for me.

I’m so looking forward to the next book, The Gift of Happiness, following the story of other residents from the village.

Thanks to Holly Martin for another great book, this is in my “favourites of the year list”.

All my reviews are quite short and concise as I’m here to show off the book rather than my own writing ability.

Thanks to the author for the review copy in which I give my honest opinion

Description The Little Village of Happiness Blog cover

Fall head-over-heels in love with the beautiful new novel from bestselling author Holly Martin and let The Little Village of Happiness warm your heart and make your spirits soar.

Willow McKay needs a fresh start. Her recent break-up may not have left her heartbroken but it’s certainly wounded her pride. Desperate to escape the whispers and stares of her town’s gossips, an advert offering homes in a picturesque village in the grounds of a majestic castle on the Cornish coast sounds like just what she needs. Without thinking twice Willow applies for a cottage and packs up her life for the village of Happiness.

But when Willow arrives she finds a crumbling ruin and ramshackle cottages, nothing like the pretty picture the advert had boasted. It seems Happiness was too good to be true. That is until she meets the incredibly handsome estate manager Andrew Harrington…

His passion for restoring the village to its former glory is contagious and soon they are working together to bring happiness back to Happiness. And as sparks fly between them Willow can feel herself falling. But Andrew is holding something back.

Can Willow risk her heart again? And will they succeed in transforming the old village to its original beauty before it’s too late?

Get swept away to the sun-kissed Cornish coast with this gorgeous love story, perfect for fans of Jill Mansell, Miranda Dickinson and Lucy Diamond.

  1. Great review, I don’t think you need apologise for your review being a certain length, I definitely don’t often write essay style reviews because most that are very long just go in to the blurb in a lot of detail or sometimes pick apart things that the reader should want to discover for themselves, if there’s too much detail it can spoil the plot I think, so good for you!
