What another absolute gem. A pleasure to read.
It follows on from the last book, Rome is Where the Heart Is.
Kate has moved to Italy to be with Alessandro.
She has a little apartment, a bit shabby but she makes the most of it.
She did borrow some money from her sisters, but she needs to find a job pretty quickly so she has some income. She made a couple of dresses for Nunzia, her landlord’s wife, but at a cut price.
Kate spends a lot of time at Alessandro’s family home. His mamma and sisters have taken her into their world. Well, except Maria. She is one of Alessandro’s older sisters, married and close friends with Orazia. Orazia is a family friend, and a colleague of Alessandro. She has always fancied him! She does stir things up a bit too. Kate being a divorcee doesn’t go down too well with the family either, due to their religious beliefs.
Kate lands herself a job. Not her dream job but it will do. She still dreaming of making dresses for a living.
Again the author took me on a tour of Rome and the surrounding area. I felt I was there, in the crazy traffic on the back of a moped….holding on for grim death.
The descriptions of the city were fab. I have fallen in love with it.
And the food!! From the gelatos to all the food prepared by mamma. It all sounded so delicious.
Jamie made a cameo appearance, and it was nice to see him again. Kate’s sisters also visited and they realise why she loves the place so much.

Meet the Author
From a young age, Tilly Tennant was convinced that she was destined for the stage. Once she realised she wasn’t actually very good at anything that would put her on the stage, she started to write stories instead. There were lots of terrible ones, like The Pet Rescue Gang (aged eight), which definitely should not see the light of day ever again. Thankfully, her debut novel, Hopelessly Devoted to Holden Finn was not one of those, and since it hit the Amazon best seller lists she hasn’t looked back. Born in Dorset, she currently lives in Staffordshire with her husband, two daughters, three guitars, four ukuleles, two violins and a kazoo.
